Brussels what to see in one day in order. We can't make it easier for you

Here are our proposals of what to see in one day in Brussels city. In other words, we will see the essential Brussels, which for us are the most beautiful and surprising places in Brussels in Belgium.

It must be said that our route is based on the post of our good friend Elena from her blog Instantes de Felicidad, where she has a good post about Brussels recommending us the essentials to visit in this beautiful city

One of the articles we have done on Brussels, Ghent and Bruges in one day.

FIRST HOUR IN THE MORNING. We took off from the Atomium neighborhood

It is 10 am and we start the tour of Brussels with joy. A route that will exhaust us as good travelers, but with which we will enjoy the beauty.

The first thing we are going to do is go to the place where the symbol of Brussels stands, the Tour Effeil de Bruxelles: the Atomium.

We started by seeing this imposing monument. Do you know that there are escalators between the different balls? The greatness of entering the Atomium is that it will give us good views of the city. Some views that will help us get an idea of how big Brussels is.

From the Atomium, if you go with children, don't miss Mini Europe in Brussels. A place where you can see the European Union with different eyes and with a rather didactic point besides entertaining.

If you do not go with children you can go to one of the museums around the Atomium such as Design, very attractive and entertaining.

We will breathe fresh air in the middle of this great city, we will pass to see the Belvedere Palace and the Royal Castle of Laken, where the royal family of Belgium lives. Along with him we will continue and discover the Japanese tower and the Chinese palace and beyond the gardens of the royal palace, which you can visit part of.

TIME TO EAT. It's time to eat well, enjoy a typical meal in Brussels while planning your next visit

And both walking and walking whets your appetite. It is time to eat and rest a little, while we return to the guide and prioritize what to continue watching. Remember that you are in Brussels Belgium, here you eat between 12 and 13 hours. And even if you don't like it, I recommend that you eat at that time. Why? Well, because at 17:XNUMX p.m. they close everything, so you better eat now and take advantage of the afternoon, you will appreciate it later.

BRUSSELS WHERE TO EAT

Well, look there are so many restaurants in Brussels that I could not list them all. Above all, look at the guide above, which has the typical Belgian dishes that you should not forget to try.

AN EVENING OF EUROPEAN CULTURE AND ENTERTAINMENT at the European Parliament

Until 15 pm you have time to visit the European Parliament. A free visit with an audio guide in Spanish that is very worthwhile to understand what is done here. Without a doubt, you should go and see with your own eyes the place where the most important laws in Europe are decided.

And then wander around this European neighborhood for a bit. Discover the glamor of one of its small shops and buy the best Belgian chocolates that we have tasted in the country in one of its nearby chocolate stores.

WE CONTINUE WITH THE AFTERNOON- NIGHT. We go to the center of Brussels to the Grand Place and Menneken pis

Another must-see in Brussels is to see the Menneken pis, a 130th century fountain of a naked boy peeing who is disguised 60 days a year for different parties. Everyone imagines that it is bigger than what you end up seeing. A funny little boy of XNUMX and a few centimeters. The reality is that this famous bronze statue is a copy of the original that is in the city museum. A statue that represents the spirit of freedom of Brussels and its people and that houses the legend that a boy saved Brussels from its flames by peeing.

And apart from the Menneken pis, it is essential to walk through the Grand Place in Brussels, an impressive square that at sunset becomes magical. Seeing the spectacular Town Hall and its crowded terraces is in itself a sight worth seeing.

Snack and don't miss the chocolates or waffles

After so much wandering around the center, don't forget to buy chocolates and to eat a good full waffle or if you are salty some good Belgian fries. It is not a question of getting fat, it is a question of knowing well the gastronomy of Brussels city and Belgium. And you know, Brussels where to eat? Anywhere! It is full of cute little shops that make waffles and chocolates for you.

TIME TO DINNER. Play a delicious dinner, don't miss the nightlife of Brussels Grand Place and its surroundings

Again so much walking has whetted our appetite It's time for dinner, but this time it's a little terrace in a nice place. I recommend you go to a good restaurant, one of those with an elegant bohemian touch that there is in Brussels and that there you delight yourself with its Moules Frites or its typical stew or shrimp croquettes, salmon or its stone entrecote. And all marinated with good Belgian beers.

I could not recommend a restaurant, there are many good ones, so try one that catches your attention and enjoy good food.

Camping Brussels and other options if you go to Brussels by motorhome, caravan or you go to Brussels by camper van to spend the night

Brussels by motorhome is not as easy as Bruges by motorhome. There is no motorhome area so there are only two options: in a parking lot or in the Brussels Open Sky campsite, which is the closest to the center or two more that are around it. The Brussels campsites are quite far from the center and the price is around € 45-50 per night for two adults and two children.

We choose a parking in this case where they let you spend the night in a motorhome or camper. Parking is in one of the streets around the Atomium. We slept with the atomium lit up above, a show and so in the morning we were close by for his visit and the visit to mini europe. They are blue zone car parks, paid during the day, although not very expensive (all day and night about € 12). During the day it is a very quiet and busy area but at night it must be said that depending on the street you are on there are kids drinking bottles or doing rally (although at 00 they leave). You have to get on the streets that you see trucks that are the quietest at night to spend the night in Brussels in a motorhome with peace of mind.
