What to visit in 14 days on a route through Alicante, Castellón and Valencia by motorhome

Day 1: Villena-Castalla-Font Roja (Alcoy)

We start in Villena, where we can visit its impressive castle and, in the lower part of town, a cathedral and a church. From there, we head to Castalla to enjoy a curious Playmobil park. It's really cool. Other attractions in the town are the church and the castle. We finish this first day in La Font Roja , where we can choose one of the many trails in the area, some easier than others. We can't miss its viewpoint. This is a suggestion for the first day, but adapt it to your preferences. Oh, and in Castalla there's a small area for campervans that's fine for sleeping.

Day 2: Alcoy-Guadalest

For the second day, we suggest getting lost in the old town of Alcoy . It's well worth it. From there, we'll head to Guadalest . It's advisable to spend the night there. There's also a route that skirts the reservoir and features a very impressive castle. It's considered one of the most beautiful villages in the province of Alicante.

Day 3: Guadalest-Polop-Altea-Benissa

We're continuing our journey. Our destinations are Polop, Altea, and Benissa. In Polop, the highlights are the waterfalls and the viewpoint that offers a great panoramic view of the area. From there, we're off to Altea. We recommend getting lost in the old town, visiting the church, and taking a stroll around the port. Where are we staying? In Benissa. There's an overnight parking area at the entrance to the highway, although it's located in a somewhat isolated industrial park, but we haven't seen any negative comments about it on the forums.

Day 4: Benissa-Xativa-Bellús

We're heading into Valencia. Don't miss Xàtiva Castle . For the night, we'll stay in Bellús , which has a campsite with barbecue facilities. The El Estret de les Aigües hiking trail is highly recommended for the whole family. A great option.

Day 5: Bellús-Cullera

We set off for Cullera , home to a wild, natural beach. It's like being in the Caribbean. Without a doubt, a sensational experience. You'll want to stay a long time, take a dip, and relax to the sound of the waves.

Day 6: Cullera-Benagéber

We're heading to Benageber , one of the longest stretches of the route. We're now venturing into the heart of Valencia. Heads up! The road is narrow and winding. However, there's a huge rest area that has everything: waste disposal, barbecue facilities, a children's playground… You can also enjoy hiking trails, a viewpoint, and a reservoir. It's a lovely little town, perfect for a family visit.

Day 7: Benagéber-Chelva

We're halfway through our trip. The Water Route is a must for the whole family, as is a visit to the town of Chelva . You can walk all around the town. There's plenty to see and enjoy. You can spend the night by the river in a parking area.

Day 8: Chelva-Chulilla

We went to Chulilla . The Hanging Bridges Route is amazing. It's suitable for everyone, and although it's long, you don't have to do the whole thing. You can spend the night in the town's parking lot.

Day 9: Chulilla-Montanejos

We visited Montanejo and its fabulous hot springs. There, you're immersed in the warm water at 25 degrees Celsius. It's a truly unique place. Up ahead, before reaching the river, there's a parking area for overnight stays.

Day 10: Montanejos-Fanzara-Grao de Castellón

We headed towards Fanzara. They call it the graffiti village. It's a charming place. You walk through the streets and every house has graffiti, but not just any graffiti, it's stylish. And from there we went to Grao de Castelló where there's a very well-maintained area.

Day 11: Grao de Castellón-Peñiscola-Morella

Today we're in Peñíscola . We can't miss a visit to its castle. From there we head to Morella , one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Spain, which offers hiking trails. We'll stay there overnight. It has one of the largest parks.

Day 12: Morella-Culla

We're going to Culla to explore another one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Spain. It's a really cool and highly recommended place.

Day 13: Culla-Vilafamés

Today we're going to discover Vilafamés and see the town from the top of the castle. It's a charming place. You can walk around it and even stay overnight.

Day 14: Back home

It's time to head back to the starting point. On your way back, you can make any stops you like to put the finishing touch on this motorhome trip through Alicante, Castellón, and Valencia.
