Alsace at Christmas price according to our experience
On our 10-day trip through Alsace at Christmas and the Black Forest this year, we spent a total of €1710 for the 4 of us traveling as a family: two adults and two children aged 7 and 9.
This cost is traveling by road from Barcelona to Alsace with our own motorhome.
The detail of all expenses by items is as follows:
- In gasoline from Barcelona: 498 €uros
- In tolls from Barcelona going by the motorway of the Mediterranean coast that passes through Lyon: 245 €uros
- In motorhome areas, campsites and public transport: €97 uros
- In tickets to visits, museums and activities: €320 uros
- And the rest in restaurants, supermarkets and souvenirs.
Reducing the 5 days through the Black Forest to only 5 days through Alsace cost us approximately 1300 euros.

Alsace at Christmas price if you rent a motorhome
If you do not have a motorhome or campervan and you have to rent it, you must add between 70 and 180 euros per day.
To rent a motorhome cheaply, we recommend doing it directly in France, a good trick. They are much cheaper there, since there is more supply than in Spain.
Alsace at Christmas price if you go from a hotel or apartment
If you want, on the other hand, to go in apartments, hotels or other types of accommodation, we recommend you look at Booking where you can find and compare many accommodations in the area.
The first time we went to Alsace at Christmas we went to hotels and apartments, making two bases, one first in Strasbourg and then another in Colmar. In this case you should add about 100 euros on average per day if you are 4 like us.
Conclusion, the Alsace at Christmas different prices depending on the trip
In summary, the price for 5 days of visits to Alsace and routes is about 1300 euros if you go with your motorhome or camper, 1800 if you rent a motorhome or 1800 if you go from hotels and apartments. Although this last option if you go to hotels without a kitchen can increase your trip to Alsace at Christmas price, since you will have to eat out more.
