We start our route to get to know Chefchaouen by motorhome. Follow us!
We begin our journey by departing from Marbella and heading to the port of Tarifa to catch the ferry to Tangier. Alternatively, you can also depart from the port of Algeciras.
After an hour's journey and paperwork at Tangier Customs , we're finally starting our long-awaited route! We're heading south to take the N2 highway towards Tetouan.
Enjoying a very picturesque stretch
About 63 km and 1 hour and 20 minutes into the journey, just before reaching Tetouan, the road turns to the right, and there begins the last but most scenic stretch. We have about 65 km of road ahead, which can be covered in an hour and a half or three hours, depending on traffic, road conditions, the weather, and how often we stop to take photos or buy souvenirs or food from street vendors . We love discovering Chefchaouen in a motorhome!

We arrived in Chefchaouen and settled into Camping Azila , located in the upper part of the city. It's very basic, but ideal for resting and also for walking to the medina and exploring the whole city on foot.
We recommend getting lost in its streets and letting yourself fall in love with its people and vibrant colors. For food , we can tell you that BabSsour Restaurant is one of the best we found. It's a charming, family-run establishment in a typical house in the heart of the village, offering exquisite service and a delightful atmosphere, just like everything they serve.

The blue houses
The houses of Chefchaouen exude a clear, clean light, making this city one of the most beautiful in Morocco. For this reason, it is an inspiring destination for artists. This captivating place is known as the 'Blue City of Morocco' or 'The Pearl of the North'.
Its charming Mediterranean appearance and traditional architecture make it an especially photogenic spot. Posing in front of its centuries-old indigo doors and its white walls, also tinged with indigo, is a delight.
The people of Chefchaouen
The inhabitants of Chefchaouen paint the walls and floors of their houses several times a year, and even the streets to coincide with the changing seasons and annual celebrations. This adds a touch of freshness and repels insects—a true symbol of the town.

In the square there are a multitude of bars arranged. It is the ideal space to enjoy a mint tea or to eat something, observing the coming and going of people. And of course, the beauty of the Great Mosque, built in the late XNUMXth century.
