Why travel to the Atlantic Coast of Morocco by motorhome
I'd go to Morocco in my campervan because it's not just a cultural and gastronomic experience, but a journey back in time. In less than an hour, you find yourself in another country (the ferry from Cádiz to Tangier takes 30-45 minutes). We have a post about it that you can see here.

We were part of the Atlantic Coast, from Tangier to Essaouira, city of surfers. There are trips that we did in Convoy, with other vans and others by ourselves.

We avoid going at Easter because everything becomes much more touristy and we stayed for about a month and a half. Keep in mind that it is an Arab country and they have a month of Ramadan. I am not saying avoid this month, but take it into account, because living it is another experience.
A wonderful trip by intuition
We traveled through different cities and towns without a guidebook. We didn't write down coordinates or anything like that. That's why we encourage travelers to explore, ask locals for directions, and follow their intuition. Traveling along Morocco's Atlantic Coast in a motorhome is definitely worthwhile.

First, we visited cities like Assilah and Larache. They're fishing villages and also very touristy. In Assilah, we parked the Convoy for several days, and some locals surprised us with couscous; we gave them a Spanish omelet in return. It was a very enriching culinary exchange, to say the least.
In Larache, we recommend going to the port to buy fish. One of the things we did was look at Google Maps, and if we saw a lake or a dense pine forest, we'd head there. That's how we discovered a Natural Park in Kenitra , which was completely different from the city.

Then we passed through Rabat and Casablanca . Be careful! Casablanca has the worst driving in all of Morocco.
Between the two lies Bouznika , more specifically Bouznika Beach, which boasts a Blue Flag. There we fished on foot and also bought local fish. It's a beautiful place that allows you to get close to the locals. We watched them harvesting octopus, barnacles, and periwinkles.
Oualidia: a great discovery
Then Oualidia arrived, which was a great surprise for us: a blue lagoon and a wonderful beach. You can tell we like the sea! and ... after several days there, we found that the charm was behind that postcard blue lagoon ...
We negotiated a small boat and discovered some secluded rocky dunes. We found a local who showed us how to pick razor clams…
For us, the essence of Morocco was discovering quiet places where we could find local people who could enrich us with experiences from that country.
Don't miss the fruit markets
Finally, we visited Essaouira, a much more touristy place. We strolled along its beaches, through its market, and ate at street stalls. Something we always did was go to the fresh fruit and vegetable markets where the locals shopped.

About us: Who we are
We are Arantxa and Vito, and our dogs are Tina and Chica. We are from southern Spain, from Chipiona, Cádiz. Although our journey on social media began more in Central Europe.
In 2017, we started uploading videos to YouTube about what it was like to emigrate to a new country, specifically Germany. We lived, worked, and studied there, and we began traveling in our van with just our mattress from home and little else.
We camper the van and ... to adventure
Then we wanted to start and we devised the Al Son de mi Furgón project. We went to Spain: We sold our caravan and camped the van. We were showing all this on social networks and more and more people joined us.
Today we are fixing up a 45-year-old truck, an Avia 3500 from '76, which we will make our home, allowing us to continue traveling around the world to continue sharing our experiences.
It's more than just a camper conversion. It had been sitting for almost 20 years, and we've done all the mechanical work and are completely restoring it. We like old-fashioned vehicles, the kind that were made to work and last for many, many years.
