About Al Son de Mi Furgón

We are from Chipiona

We are Arantxa and Vito and our dogs are Tina and Chica. We are from the south of Spain, from Chipiona, Cádiz. Although our journey through the networks began more in the center of Europe.

In 2017 we started uploading videos to YouTube about what it was like to emigrate to a new country, specifically to Germany. There we were living, working and studying and we began to travel in the van with the mattress from home and little else.

We camper the van and ... to adventure

Then we wanted to start and we devised the Al Son de mi Furgón project. We went to Spain: We sold our caravan and camped the van. We were showing all this on social networks and more and more people joined us.

Today We are fixing a 45-year-old truck, a 3500 Avia 76, that we will make our home, that allows us to continue traveling around the world to continue sharing our experiences.

It is also more than a camperization. It had been standing for almost 20 years and we have done all the mechanics and we are restoring it completely. We like old things that were made to function and last for many years.

Why travel to the Atlantic Coast of Morocco by motorhome

I would go to Morocco with the Furgo because it is not only a cultural and gastronomic experience, but a journey back in time. In less than an hour, you are in another country (it takes 30-45 minutes by Ferry from Cádiz to Tangier). We have a post that you can see here.

It's like going back 40 years

It is as if we go back 40 years. That has some good things and some not so good, everything is in how we look. Explore the Atlantic coast of Morocco by motorhome is highly recommended.

From Tangier to the surprising city of surfers

We were part of the Atlantic Coast, from Tangier to Essaouira, city of surfers. There are trips that we did in Convoy, with other vans and others by ourselves.

Avoid tourist dates

We avoid going at Easter because everything becomes much more touristy and we stayed for about a month and a half. Keep in mind that it is an Arab country and they have a month of Ramadan. I am not saying avoid this month, but take it into account, because living it is another experience.

A wonderful trip by intuition

We went through different cities and towns, without a guide to places to visit. We don't write coordinates or anything like that. That is why we invite the traveler to travel, to ask the local, to be guided by their intuition ... Atlantic Coast of Morocco in a motorhome is worth a lot.

Atlantic Coast of Morocco by motorhome: fishing spots

First we visit cities like Assilah or Larache. They are fishing places and also very touristy. On Assilah We parked for several days with the Convoy and some neighbors surprised us with a CousCous, we gave them a potato omelette. It was a very nutritious gastronomic exchange, pun intended.

En Larache We recommend going to the port to buy fish. One of the things we did was look at google maps and if we saw a lake or a lush area of pine trees we would go there. This is how we discovered a Natural Park in Kenitra, which had nothing to do with the city.

More about the Atlantic Coast of Morocco by motorhome: Casablanca

Then we go through Rabat and Casablanca. Attentive! Casablanca is where they drive worst in all of Morocco.

In the middle of both is bouznika, more specifically the Bouznika Beach, endowed with the blue flag. There we fish on foot and we also buy local fish. It is a beautiful place that allows you to get closer to the local people. We saw how they caught octopuses, barnacles, burgaos ...

Oualidia: a great discovery

Then Oualidia arrived, which was a great surprise for us: a blue lagoon and a wonderful beach. You can tell we like the sea! and ... after several days there, we found that the charm was behind that postcard blue lagoon ...

We negotiate A little boat and we discovered some lonely rocky dunes .. We met a local and he taught us to pick up knives ...

For us the essence of Morocco was discovering quiet places where we could find local people to nourish us with experiences typical of that country.

Don't miss the fruit markets

Finally we go through Essaouira, a rather more touristy place. We walked along its beaches, its market and ate at street stalls. Something we always did was go to the fresh fruit and vegetable markets where local people went to shop.
