Plopsaland the great unknown amusement park that has surprised us!

On route through France, Belgium and the Netherlands in a motorhome this summer 2020 we have found a hidden and unknown gem: Plopsaland, the park of Maya the bee and Willy, his great drone friend. An amusement park totally unknown to us, and I think for the majority of Spanish and Spanish speakers.

A park that was founded by Belgian honey entrepreneurs and has grown into a great amusement park today.

Almost as a coincidence, when visiting the Belgian coast we got to know this amusement park. And we sincerely and from the heart tell you that it has become one of our favorites in Europe so far. At least this year is our best amusement park in Europe.

We have visited multiple amusement parks and in the last year Disneyland, Legoland, Futuroscope, Plopsaland and Effeling. Always accompanied with our 4 and 7 year olds. Besides in the past we have visited other European and Spanish parks.

Maybe it's because of not carrying expectations, because of the surprise factor or because of the agility of the queues, the weather or whatever, but Plopsaland de Panne has become our best amusement park in Europe this summer. In this article we explain why you chose this amusement park for the Maya the bee.

5 reasons why we consider Plopsaland the best amusement park in Europe of our summer 2020

Plopsaland de Panne ticket price: You pay for what you measure, not for your age

For a large amusement park with different areas, its price is very reasonable on the quality and services it provides. It also has prices according to what you measure and not according to age. Something very commendable, since that is how you pay for what you are actually going to use. Which gives it points to be the best amusement park in Europe.

If you measure more than one meter you will be able to use practically all the attractions of the park, so the price is € 38,5 (or € 99 for the annual pass!) And if you measure less than 85 cm, it is free, since the use it's going to be minimal.

It really is one of the cheapest amusement parks in Europe. And with a very good quality, another point to be the best amusement park in Europe.

Above all you have to buy the ticket in advance and reserve the day you go. We assume that it is due to Covid, but a couple of days before you buy and reserve them through the Plopsaland de Panne website: https://www.plopsalanddepanne.be/en

Offers we have not seen many. Yes, in the Carrefour of Belgium in Panne we saw some discount voucher, but we did not understand how it works.

Magic and great attractions for everyone and in a 1 day visit

Plopsaland, is the amusement park of Maya and Willy the bee, but it is also the amusement park of traditional Belgian tales and cartoons. That turns it into an amusement park with different set areas and with points of great magic and charm.

In Mayaland you have the attractions of Maya the bee and Willy, an ideal area for children from 3 to 10 years old, where also parents enjoy a lot going up with them.

But then there are different zones. An example is the Vikings area with Viky the vikongo as the protagonist that combines strong adrenaline rides with other fun and refreshing family rides.

The best of all is that they combine attractions of all kinds in each area, there is to spend adrenaline, there are hilarious and refreshing, there are family, there are for the little ones. And in general, in most of the children from one meter in height, the little ones can climb. This is where Anna, our little 4 year old, has tried her first roller coaster, which was not bad at all!

In general, as there are no long queues and it is a good size in one day, you can visit it in its entirety and ride many attractions.

Something perfect for us, so the rest of the days we prefer to enjoy the Belgian coast, see seals in Belgium, Ostend or see the elegant Belgium Bruges and Ghent.

And if you don't want to move from De Panne you can go to Plopsaqua, a very good looking water park next to Plopsaland, which we will undoubtedly try again one day.

For us, a one-day park of full enjoyment is a positive point to become the best amusement park in Europe this summer. More than one day they saturate us and one day without having the feeling of seeing everything creates dissatisfaction.

Hygienic measures against the coronavirus that provide security and peace of mind

Really and for not wearing masks in Belgium when we went, Plopsaland made us feel especially safe.

Much control of the capacity, hygiene in the attractions, continuous cleaning in everything, use of the mandatory mask in closed spaces and control of safety distances were guaranteed at all times throughout the amusement park.

Undoubtedly another of the strengths of this amusement park to be the best amusement park in Europe this post-covid summer.

Stop queues and long waits. finally in a European amusement park

Going to an amusement park is generally synonymous with queues. In Plopsaland it was not so. In any moment! We downloaded your app for planning and queue management but we didn't need it. The maximum wait for the strongest rides was 15 minutes. We certainly enjoyed ourselves very much thanks to this. Undoubtedly, one of the great strengths of this park to become our best amusement park in Europe this summer.

Perhaps it was a coincidence, but that was our experience, without queues.

For hot days but also for rainy days. There is always a plan in the park with Maya the bee and Willy

The day we went to Plopsaland it was hot, but thanks to its shadows, Mayaland which is closed and its multiple areas and water attractions had a great day. And if it's really hot, you can change Plopsaland for Plopsaqua, right next to the Plopsaland water park.

In addition, if it rains it is also an advantage to have closed amusement areas. Without a doubt, a very versatile park that we have loved and that is why it has become our best amusement park in Europe this summer.

Some more things to consider about Plopsaland that may interest you

Plopsaland with dog

Currently, they have a kennel under construction, but when we went there was none. Having the Viesa, cooler, in the motorhome we leave our furry Max in the car without any problem. But if you do not have it and it is hot, do not leave your dog inside.

Plopsaland by motorhome

Traveling in a motorhome in Europe is great and Belgium in a motorhome has no problem, on the contrary it is a good place. So in Plopsaland there is no problem to go by motorhome. But you should know that you cannot spend the night in the Plopsaland car park. There is no motorhome area neither there nor nearby. You can park and there is also a reserved area for you to park right in front of the lockers but do not sleep there.

The price of the parking is 12 Euros all day.

To sleep we did it in a nearby Panne campsite called Kindervreugde, the night for the 4 did not reach 30 euros and the camping was very good. But if you want there is a car park a little further away near a mill that you can stay for free for one night. On the beach of Panne you will not be able to spend the night in any parking lot, motorhome parking is prohibited. Something common on the Belgian coast. Something very similar to what happens to us on the Spanish coast.
