Benabarre in motorhome or camper and with children

Benabarre in a motorhome with children, we start the route in the territory of the Aragonese Pyrenees but with Catalan speakers: the Franja de Ponent

The first stop on the holiday through the Catalan Pyrenees with children was in Benabarre, an Aragonese village in the region of Alta Ribagorza Aragonesa , bordering the Catalan province of Lleida, in the area called the Franja de Ponent.

In this area of the Franja de Ponent, history is shared with Catalonia and a dialect of Catalan , Ribagorzano, is spoken, which is why there is no better place to delve into our route through the Catalan Pyrenees and its surroundings, a good excuse to see Benabarre in a motorhome.

What to see in Benabarre by motorhome or camper

First, we visited the town and Benabarre Castle upon arriving in the afternoon, its main attraction. The next morning we woke up very hungry and decided to have breakfast at Chocolatería Brescó (@chocolatesbresco), right next to the town and easily accessible from the main road. They make delicious hot chocolate, and you can enjoy it with their cakes—a great breakfast to start your trip.

Next, we went to visit the Benabarre Cheese Factory @quesosbenabarre, where due to COVID we could not visit the factory to see how they make the cheese, but they let us see the goats.

Now we are ready to start the trip with the next stop in Catalan territory now!

Where to spend the night in Benabarre in campervan or motorhome

To sleep we decided to go to the picnic area next to the hermitage of San Medardo (Coordinates: N42º7'45.34 «E0º29'4.04»).

It is a quiet space to spend the night and children can run and play safely.
