Damme, Belgium: What to see? Without a doubt, if you're visiting Bruges, Damme is a must-see. It's a 40-minute, 8,5 km (16 km round trip) bike ride along a beautiful greenway next to the Bruges-Damme canal, passing several charming Belgian windmills. Alternatively, it's just 10 minutes or less by car.

2 Moving by bike, a must to enjoy Damme and Belgium in a few days
To move around Belgium in total freedom and enjoy it, you must bring a bicycle or rent one. It is undoubtedly a must-do that transforms the trip. Moving around by bicycle in Damme Belgium is easy, safe and comfortable. Remember that from Bruges to Damme you have a wonderful greenway of 16 km round trip in total that passes through a beautiful canal full of windmills.
Damme what to see
We recommend booking an evening in Damme . This small town is perfect for a day trip from Bruges, whether by bike or on the historic boat . Stroll along its paths and through its natural surroundings, see the Town Hall, wander around the ruined Abbey, and finally enjoy dinner on one of its lovely terraces. Just be sure to eat dinner early, Belgian time, so the return trip to Bruges by bike will be much easier.
You can also do it one morning and instead of riding a bike, take the historic boat that goes from Bruges to Damme. Another great plan is this mini-cruise to Damme.
And the last alternative, come by car, van or motorhome and park in the parking lot at the entrance to the town of Damme Belgium.
