To move around Belgium freely and enjoy it, you have to bring your bike or rent one. Without a doubt, it is an essential that transforms the trip. Strolling through the castle gardens and its surroundings by bicycle changes the experience in this beautiful castle.
Gaasbeek what to see and do
We recommend that you reserve a morning to see Gaasbeek and stroll through its gardens.
A great plan is to go from Lennik village to Gaasbeek by bike, about 6 km. Take a walk there before entering its gardens and surrounding natural park. Then visit the Castle and its interior gardens, the two visits that include general admission.
To visit Gaasbeek, remember to avoid Mondays and Tuesdays , as it's closed to the public on those days. However, you can still explore the surrounding grounds and free public gardens . Strolling around the various ponds and observing the birds that live there, while admiring the castle from different perspectives, is also a great way to spend your time. But the visit will be incomplete without going inside and seeing this beautiful castle itself.
If what you want is to see the castle from the inside, reserve a few hours and buy your tickets right there. Until 16:40 pm is the last entry you can do. It closes at 18 hours.
The adult price is €10 and the child's price is €2. Entry includes a visit to the castle and its gardens . A very reasonable price for how beautiful the castle is.
There is also a third option to visit in Gaasbeek: the garden museum . Entry to this museum, including the museum, costs €13 for adults, an additional €3. Children under 7 years old do not pay any extra beyond the general admission price.
To end your day visiting the castle, there is a bar with a terrace and a restaurant that will help you regain your strength for the return journey right at the exit of the Gaasbeek Castle grounds.
If you go by motorhome or campervan to Lennik or Gaasbeek
You can go to visit the castle in your motorhome, van or car without problem, there is a large, spacious and accessible parking. You can even sleep there with your camper.
But we recommend you go to Lennik to spend the night in a motorhome or camper, where there is a motorhome area with all services, except electricity. A beautiful area, although with few seats about 5 I remember.
The Lennik RV park is next to a skate park, soccer field, tennis courts, children's playground and has picnic tables. A very good place to spend the night, although some kids go skateboarding at night, but they didn't bother us.
