Beersel, a Belgian castle in the purest Flemish Brabant style

Beersel one of the essential castles in Belgium

The Beersel Castle an essential stop on our route of castles in Belgium

On a route through Belgium in a motorhome we discover Flanders and specifically its cities, towns, natural parks and most charming castles. We also discovered Belgium with children, with our children, and with our dog Max, a family trip that we will always remember.

Stay on our journey through our posts. For now here we discover the chateau de Beersel, very close to Brussels.

Beersel Castle: what to see and do

We recommend that you reserve a morning to see Beersel and stroll through its gardens around the moat.

Beersel is very close to Brusselsyou can go from there drive and park right next door in their parking lot or you can go by train which has a very close stop.

To visit Beersel you must remember don't go on Monday, day that remains closed to the public. And if it is closed you cannot visit its interior or surrounding gardens.

If you want to see the castle, book a few hours and buy your tickets right there. Closes at 17 hours.

The adult price is € 4 and the child under 12 years € 1. Includes a free visit with a paper guide that they give you in English to the castle and gardens around the castle moat. A very reasonable price for what the castle is.

Inside there is not much to see, since it is completely empty, but it is curious to see and fun to go up and down its towers. Be careful with those of you with children under 4 years of age, the stairs are very narrow and the castle cannot be very pleasant to walk with them.

Finally, at the exit and right next to the castle's parking lot, you have a bar with a restaurant terrace that will help you regain strength to continue with your route.

If you go by motorhome or camper van to the castle of Beersel

You can go to visit the castle in your motorhome, van or car without problem, there is a large, spacious and accessible parking. You can even sleep there with your camper. Although we do not recommend it since it is next to the road and the train tracks.

We recommend you to spend the night in Lennik in a motorhome or camper, where there is a motorhome area with all services, except free and precious choice.

The Lennik RV park is next to a skate park, soccer field, tennis courts, children's playground and has picnic tables. A very good place to spend the night, although some kids go skateboarding at night, but they didn't bother us.
