Besides the purchase price of a motorhome, you must consider its maintenance costs . These include parking (if you can't keep it at home or in your garden), vehicle insurance, road tax, inspections and MOTs, and, if it's a new motorhome, the annual water tightness test, which costs between €100 and €200. This test ensures the water tightness guarantee lasts approximately 10 years, depending on the manufacturer. If you don't pass the test, you won't be covered for any potential dampness issues.
Motorhomes types

Nasturtium motorhome
Capuchin motorhomes are equipped with a spacious and comfortable interior space. Therefore, they allow you to travel as a family and large groups.

However, the profiled ones with an island bed (or central bed), come with less garage space but more space in the sleeping area. Thus, it creates a more comfortable feeling and with more space to store things (usually 2 wardrobes on both sides of the bed).
Another option is the French distribution. In this type of arrangement, the shower and sink area are separated into different rooms.
As a last alternative, you have the possibility to choose a profiled motorhome with a distribution of two separate beds (individual) with the option of converting it into a single bed.
It is an ideal solution for those couples who have small children, since in the area above the dining room table, there is a tilting bed that allows you to lower it.
Full Time
This allows the integrals to offer a wider interior space increasing the feeling of comfort and at the same time being compatible with the necessary privacy.
As the beds are at the ends (rear and cabin), the central part of the room can always be used and is not canceled as it happens in other types of motorhomes.
It is fortunate that the integral motorhomes have an orderly and harmonious design, where the spaciousness of the spaces is enjoyed from the first moment. In this type of vehicle harmony, luxury and functionality are combined.
Another important quality of these vehicles is that they have greater driving space and greater peripheral vision. They also provide the cabin with a luxury rear room, and a lift-up front bed as well as a hotel suite bathroom.
Van price

Types camper vans

You can find two types in the market:
California type
Our old California T4 was a very drivable van, small and accessible to any remote place. It looked almost 4 × 4.
These types of campers are great on the one hand for the accessibility they give and the ease of driving.
You can also store them in the same parking lot as a car and use them daily, without the need for additional vehicles. By cons, the space for families is very small and you have to play tetris continuously for everything, without having a bathroom (although you can have a portable chemical toilet) or an indoor shower, which is a bit more uncomfortable.
In addition, the upper bed is a tent type that if you go with children and you like to ski, it is not comfortable at all.
Large volumes
These vans provide an intermediate solution, between the California type and a motorhome, in terms of accessibility and ease of driving.
They are around 6 meters long and the good thing is that they are narrower than motorhomes, about 30 cm less on average.
On the other hand, they usually have beds set up and there is no need to play tetris to make and undo beds. In addition, they have a sink and shower which is the great change between a California and large volumes.
Price camper van or other vehicle
The price of camperizing a van ranges from € 500 to the money you want to spend.
