In the pandemic we created our YouTube channel to help those who need it with our experience when importing our motorhome from France, with it we have been touring Europe for 2 years. In our videos you can see, apart from the information on the purchase and import, some arrangements, bricos and trips. We usually move with our 2 bicycles that are not used to visit the places visited. As a curiosity we will tell you that between the two of us we have 4 children and a dog but we travel alone.
We are already planning what trips we will do when all this is over!
Lago di Garda by motorhome: we fell in love!
On the way to venice
In August 2020 we were heading to Venice and we were surprised the night near the Lago di Garda, totally unknown to us. We stopped to sleep and when we woke up the place fell in love with us so much !! We decided to dedicate 3 days to it (if you can, we recommend a minimum of 5 days).
With our bikes
We spent the night and left the car for 2 days in a free parking that we found at Park4night (45.488602,10.529400). When we wake up, we make a beautiful journey on our bicycles to the Castello de Sirmeone, about 10 kms bordering the lake and finding beautiful places such as Desenzano di Garda, Rivoltella, Colombaree, among others. Highly recommended to discover the Lago di Garda by motorhome.
During the tour, we observe that the place has many campsites in case you choose them. The route is beautiful and very enjoyable, almost all with a bike path and quite flat. It can also be done by boat, like buses that are constantly going from one side of the lake to the other, although the most used means of transport is the bicycle. You see a lot of bikes!
Visit the Castello di Sirmeone and pack your swimsuit
Entering the Castello di Sirmeone is a must. We recommend you buy tickets online, have an ice cream strolling through its streets until you reach the beach of Jamaica. You do not miss the hype!.
We were very surprised by that beach ... very different from the ones we are used to. Do not forget your swimsuits if you go in summer, you can take a dip in the walls of the Castello. Undoubtedly, a bathroom in a different environment and accompanied by many ducks. Ah, it is highly recommended especially if you go with children.
Malcesine, a very picturesque place
The next day we headed to Malcesine. On the way we make several stops because we do not stop seeing beautiful places, beaches at the foot of the lake next to charming villages ... They are worth a visit even if it is quick.
When we arrive in Malcesine we go to a paid parking (€ 1 / h). It is the best option we found and it is located at the foot of the lake (90). With our bicycles we went to tour the town. We advise when you arrive to park them and visit it on foot since its streets are made of cobblestones and there are many slopes
Malcesine is one of those places that leaves you speechless for its beauty and for being a very picturesque place, with its artisan shops and its beautiful streets with a lot of charm. Once we had visited the town, we took our bikes again to make the tour of the lake shore and see Malcesine from different places. Without a doubt, the Lago di Garda by motorhome leaves you in awe.
You will take thousands of photos
You will like it as much as we do for sure !!. The vision of the town changes a lot from one place to another, which is more beautiful. Surely you take thousands of photos like us.
Do not forget the swimsuit that the heat and its waters invite you to bathe at any time. We didn't eat in any restaurant but we saw that the prices were very reasonable, Javier had a coffee in one of the beach bars on the lake for only € 1.
The cable car, highly recommended!
An attraction that we recommend and we could not do was take the cable car and go up to Monte Baldo to enjoy its spectacular views. Since we did not have the scheduled stop, we should have bought the tickets online or if we could not do some impressive queues in the sun; so we decided to leave it for another occasion that we will surely return (you can take a look here.
Without a doubt, it is an attraction that if you organize the trip you cannot miss. The views from what we saw on Google are unique!
Spending the night at Lago di Garda is free… if you find a place
The next day we visit what remains of the lake, which is not much, and we already head towards Trento to continue our route to Venice.
The overnight stay in the entire Lago di Garda is free as long as you find a place for it. If not, you have many campsites and paid parking for it. We tell you that emptying gray water and toilet was not easy, You hardly find places and the ones that exist are very expensive, although I tell you that the lake is very worth it and it was the only drawback.

It was not part of our trip planning but we know that we will come back to do it whole because it deserves a visit in advance since there is much to discover in it, Lago di Garda has made us fall in love!
