During our recent motorhome trip to France over the Pilar holiday weekend, we visited the French Pyrenees, specifically the Ariège region. A visit to the Ariège with children, exploring its more mountainous areas.
We've called this route: the French Pyrenees 4-Season Motorhome Route . And we experienced days of sun, rain, dense fog, and it even snowed!
We love the French Pyrenees, there are multiple routes we have done.
This time we explore a new area: the Argiegeoises Pyrenees of the Ariège department, Occitania region. In other words, we visit the western Pyrenees closest to Catalonia or rather the central Pyrenees of France
Our narration as always speaks of our experience touring the French Pyrenees with children and, as always we usually travel, in a motorhome.
And here's a must-see stop on our motorhome route through the Beille Valley: Les Cabannes. This French Pyrenees campsite is perfect for motorhomes thanks to its reasonably priced motorhome area with all amenities.

After making a route through Beille and enjoying its views, on our route we go down to Les Cabannes. The neuralgic micro-town of the area.
It is a very small town, but you can immediately tell that there is a great life. It is noted by its tourist office and by the number of apartments for rent for the winter season, that it is a village of rest from the ski slopes in winter. Although we suspect that in summer it is also bustling.
In Les Cabannes, we found a fantastic motorhome area with a very reasonable fee. Just 5 euros for 24 hours. This area has all the amenities, including restrooms. Perfect for campervans without a chemical toilet.
Les Cabannes services and activities
Les Cabannes is great to rest and go for a drink in one of its restaurants and bars in its central square.
It also has a small supermarket, tobacconist and pharmacy. So it makes it a perfect place to rest and spend the night if you are in the Valle de Beille en l'Ariege area.
On the other hand, on Sunday mornings in the town square, in front of the Town Hall, you will find a wonderful market with stalls of French cheeses, local sausages, fresh fruit, clothes and more.
In short, Les Cabannes with this motorhome and camping area is great. Hence the title of this post: Les Cabannes, French Pyrenees perfect camping for motorhomes, caravans and campers!
