Within our last getaway through France in a motorhome, during the Pilar bridge, we have visited the French Pyrenees on its side of the Ariegeoise Pyrenees. A visit to Ariege with children to its most mountainous part.
We have called this route: ruThe French Pyrenees in a 4 season motorhome. And it is that we live days of sun, rain, intense fog and it even snowed us!
We love the French Pyrenees, there are multiple routes we have done.
This time we explore a new area: the Argiegeoises Pyrenees of the Ariège department, Occitania region. In other words, we visit the western Pyrenees closest to Catalonia or rather the central Pyrenees of France
Our narration as always speaks of our experience touring the French Pyrenees with children and, as always we usually travel, in a motorhome.

After making a route through Beille and enjoying its views, on our route we go down to Les Cabannes. The neuralgic micro-town of the area.
It is a very small town, but you can immediately tell that there is a great life. It is noted by its tourist office and by the number of apartments for rent for the winter season, that it is a village of rest from the ski slopes in winter. Although we suspect that in summer it is also bustling.
In Les Cabannes we find a magnificent motorhome area very reasonable payment. Only 5 euros for 24 hours. This area has all the services, including bathrooms. Perfect for campers that do not have a chemical toilet.

Les Cabannes is great to rest and go for a drink in one of its restaurants and bars in its central square.
It also has a small supermarket, tobacconist and pharmacy. So it makes it a perfect place to rest and spend the night if you are in the Valle de Beille en l'Ariege area.
On the other hand, on Sunday mornings in the town square, in front of the Town Hall, you will find a wonderful market with stalls of French cheeses, local sausages, fresh fruit, clothes and more.
