We continue to explain our bike tour of Lake Constance with children as a family that we have done this summer. An experience of almost 180 km pedaling with the family and staying in campsites with our tent that we have all enjoyed very much.
Today is the 2nd stage, the 2nd day en route, of this adventure after yesterday's day of the Stage 1, day 1 Lake Constance route by bike: From Fußach, Austria, to Arbon, Switzerland (38 km).

About us
We are the kucavana familyWe travel with our two children and our adopted dog, Max. We usually travel in our campervan, Kucavana, hence the name of our blog (as a baby, Anna couldn't pronounce "campervan" and said "Kucavana"). But we also enjoy traveling by bicycle, by plane, and backpacking—the point is to have adventures as a family. The one writing this is me, Pilar, the mom of the family and perhaps the craziest one. I enjoy every family learning experience and I hope to help you enjoy it as much as we do. We do it by traveling.

Videoblog Stage 2 Lake Constance by bike
Stage 2: From Arbon, Switzerland, to Konstanz in Germany, 41 km in the middle of a heat wave
We start this stage with desire and getting up early to avoid the heat wave that loomed over us. How crazy! Yesterday was intense, and the heat threatens To overcome oneself today. The Central European heat wave is making us start the route through Lake Constance en bike unexpectedly. But that doesn't stop us, we are ready for the action and the family pedaling!
The Swiss part of Lake Constance It is, without a doubt, picturesque, but this stage turned out to be somewhat dull in terms of visits and interesting things to see, we hardly saw a single town the entire way! Basically, we pedal next to train tracks, and again. Come on, a little variety It wouldn't have been bad, Northern Switzerland Lake Constance!
To top it off, the heat wave has us trapped today! Some steep climbs and descents and a scorching sun, this is getting difficult! But in the midst of the monotony, we find a treasure: a hidden Beach in the lake.

A refreshing dip It was our prize and treasure halfway!
Before that, we wanted to see Locorama, an old train museum about 10 kilometers from Arbon, romanshorn, but upon arrival we discovered that it was only open on Sundays. Our joy in a well!

Thank goodness that in a few kilometers we found a café adjacent to Lake Constance with a good terrace where we could have a frozen.
The anecdotes, however, did not stop. When we go to pay, the lady tells us that only with «cash," and in cash we don't have even a Swiss franc…And to a nearby town with an ATM there are a few kilometers to be able to withdraw money… Thank goodness we were not the only tourist cyclists that this had happened to and the lady let us pay with euros and even had cultural, !

Summary: everything in this life has a solution except one thing. Let's keep pedaling! After hours of effort, we finally arrived at the gates of Constance, Germany, But adventure It wasn't over yet.
We made a mistake, we confused the bike lane and bang! 5 extra kilometers under the relentless sun on an infinite slope that we even climbed twice for more INRI for double error.
What an odyssey! We have won an award for our perseverance today!

Our arrival in Constanta
Fate rewarded us, we arrived at the center of Constanta. Without thinking about it, we We dived into the lake with clothes and everything.
What a glorious feeling! Since it was so hot, luckily we weren't the only ones taking a bath dressed hehe and no one was looking at us hehe
The Bodensee Card
Once refreshed, we ran to the tourist office in search of the famous Bondensee Cards. These cards offer access to 160 attractions, museums and activities around Lake Constance in all 3 countriess. ¡
How wonderful! We plan a lot of visits and things to do in the next few days.
But, in the end, reality exceeded expectations, and although we enjoyed some attractions, we discovered that the Bondensee Cards They were not as profitable as we expected, since our Tiredness will not allow us to do as much as we would have liked.
It doesn't matter, the adventure is what counts!
