If Namibia is a land of contrasts, few places represent it better than Swakopmund and Walvis Bay. After many days traversing deserts, safaris, and endless gravel tracks, reaching the Atlantic coast was one of the biggest surprises of our trip.

Here we discovered a landscape completely different from the rest of the country. Giant dunes that literally end at the sea, colonies of seals, flamingos, adventure activities, and a curious German heritage reflected in the architecture, gastronomy, and atmosphere of the city.

Swakopmund became the perfect stop for us to rest for a few days, recharge, and enjoy some of the best restaurants of the trip. Meanwhile, Walvis Bay gave us one of Namibia's most spectacular experiences: exploring the breathtaking dunes of Sandwich Harbour, one of those places that seems otherworldly.
