Sossusvlei and Deadvlei: Namibia's most impressive dunes

If there is one image that represents Namibia around the world, it is probably that of the enormous orange dunes of Sossusvlei and the petrified trees of Deadvlei against the white, cracked desert floor.

We had seen hundreds of photographs before traveling, but nothing prepared us for what we felt when we saw them in person. Watching the sunrise over some of the tallest dunes on the planet, walking among the skeletons of centuries-old acacia trees in Deadvlei, or climbing the famous Big Daddy dune was one of the most spectacular experiences of our entire trip through Namibia.

Besides its beauty, this area has something difficult to explain. The absolute silence, the vastness of the landscape, and the changing colors of the sand throughout the day create a unique atmosphere that makes every visit special.

👉 We are finishing a complete guide on Sossusvlei and Deadvleiwhere we will share everything we learned during our visit: how to get there, where to stay, access prices, recommended times, how to visit Deadvlei, which dunes are worth climbing, tips to avoid the heat, maps, routes and all the necessary tricks to fully enjoy one of the most impressive places in Africa.

It will be available very soon.

If there was one region that truly conveyed a sense of adventure during our trip through Namibia, it was the Skeleton Coast.
