The Pineta Valley, calm and magical forests

We left Benasque on the well-known N-260 Trans-Pyrenean highway , the road that has taken us almost from one side of the Pyrenees to the other. And what a stretch this was, the worst of the N-260. Not even the Collada de Toses pass or the section from Seu d'Urgell to Sort could compare. The access to this road is like something from another century. A road on the edge of a gorge that barely allows two cars to pass. But to make matters worse, huge water trucks from Veri are constantly driving by. In short, we already had to stop for a truck a few times with the California campervan, so if you're traveling with children in a campervan, be very careful and patient.

Someday we will return with the motorhome but I think we will go around the other road one way, although more kilometers are made to reach the Pineta Valley by motorhome, our next destination on this route through the Pyrenees by motorhome. The campsite is also next to where the great routes of the Valley depart and the information point of the Park.

The campsite where we spend the night next to the information center in the valley is Camping La Pineta. It has a pool and a mini club, which makes children have a good morning. From here we will make different signposted and guided routes through the Park's information point.

The Pineta Valley, located in the Sobarbe region, stretches from the Pineta Cirque , at the foot of Monte Perdido, to the picturesque village of Bielsa , where most of its inhabitants have been transient visitors who haven't been able to leave those lands behind. Or so they say.

Pine, fir and beech trees cover the slopes of the mountains dotted with alpine pastures. We look up, the landscape of the high peaks makes our imaginations fly. In spring a blanket of flowers covers the banks of the river, adorning this spectacular Pyrenean landscape, which becomes the natural gateway to the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park.

The Larri Plains , the Waterfall Trail, the Trinca waterfall , the Pineta Cirque, the Samit Hermitage , the Peña Montañesa, and the reservoir are some of the paths and landscapes that will surely accompany us if we travel to the Pineta Valley in a motorhome. Memories that will not just fade away but become a part of us.
