Zaida was the wife of Prince Fath-Al-Mammun. During the siege of the Almoravids in the city of Córdova during the s. XI, Prince Fath-Al-Mammun sent his wife Zaida to the Castle of Almodóvar del Río. There, Zaida, sensed her death and ended up dying of sentence condemned in the dungeons by the Almoravids.

5 If you go with your motorhome or camper, you can park and even spend the night in it castle park. The only negative thing to spend the night is that from 20pm to 8am they leave you locked by a chain. Of course, the boys in the castle are charming and when you ask if you can stay there, they give you permission and on top of that they give you their phone number for any emergency if necessary. Sleeping in this place is wonderful, tranquility and a good restaurant where you can eat at a good price, and the photo you have left with the castle in the background ... impressive!
