La Vall de Boí: Taüll, Barruera, the Cavallers reservoir and Aiguestortes

We arrived in the Vall de Boí in a motorhome. A valley we know well. It's not the first time, nor will it be the last. Here's another post about a 4-day getaway in the Vall de Boí where you can see more: September 11th long weekend: Vall de Boí, hiking and climbing with children.

We spent the first night in the large parking lot in Taüll , opposite the impressive Romanesque church of St. Climent de Taüll, which is reasonably priced at €5. It has restrooms and a great children's playground. The village also has good restaurants and an excellent farm bakery.

From Taüll we can go up to the Cavallers Reservoir, an excellent area for routes, hiking and overnight stays, but only vehicles less than 2m wide can go up, so suitable for the California but not for motorhomes.

For motorhomes, you can stop at the Camí dels Enamorats parking area and enjoy a pleasant, short hike with the kids. Alternatively, you can drive up to the Aigüestortes parking area and from there take some great hikes to the lakes or rent a 4x4.

And after a good hike, it's time to relax and enjoy the pool in Barruera . Barruera has a campervan area for overnight stays, with a barbecue and picnic area in the shade—excellent, right across from the river and a football pitch. It's also close to playgrounds and the municipal swimming pool, which for just 3 euros will brighten up the day for the little ones.

There, without a doubt, you can already go to the nearby butcher and prepare a good barbecue after a good time in the pool.
