Congost de Collegats by motorhome, the origin of Gaudí's Sagrada Familia

Our first day of our motorhome trip through the Pyrenees was spent in one of our favorite areas of the Lleida Pyrenees . And our first stop was our magical, secret swimming spot in the Collegats Gorge.

Now it will no longer be secret, but I hope you take care of it as well as we do and that when it returns it will be the same as always. I entrust it to you.

This special bathing area is accessed by parking in the Les Morreres car park on the N-260 highway, near Gerri de la Sal . Once parked there, where there's a picnic area and plenty of shade, follow the old road that runs alongside the river through the Collegats Gorge. Walk until you find a plaque commemorating Jacint Verdaguer; just beyond it, a narrow path descends through the rocks to a tiny beach on the river, offering this spectacular view.

You will recognize it for a reason. What do you think it looks like? Look at the photo, think ... Bingo! To the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona! And it is that Gaudí was inspired by l'Argentería de Collegats, right here, and thanks to Verdaguer's poem.

Gerri de la Sal by camper, the culture of Sal de Lleida

Besides the Collegats Gorge, the next stop is Gerri de la Sal . It's a very pretty little village with a salt museum, a lovely chapel, and a swimming area under a Romanesque bridge with a great beach bar. Parking is easy with a campervan, but with a motorhome, you'll only be able to park at the beginning or end of the village, along the sides of the road. The museum is excellent; it includes a visit to the salt pans, and they explain the process very well.

And after a refreshing swim and visiting the Gerri de la Sal museum, we continued our journey and stopped in Sort.

Sort by motorhome, adventure sports and the Golden Witch

Apart from being able to do adventure sports, in Sort you can stock up on food and some purchases. And of course, you cannot leave Sort without buying the Bruixa D'Or lottery, it has never touched us, but as a tradition we always end up buying.

In Sort you can park well at the exit of the town or before around the river.
