Quercy Natural Park, a route through the south of France in a motorhome

If you are looking to enjoy nature and be surprised by unusual activities on a route through France by motorhome, and especially if it is through the south of France by motorhome, this is your route.

Discover the Quercy Natural Park enjoying traveling through France in a motorhome, an always excellent option.

The Quercy Calcareous Plateau Regional Natural Park (Parc des Causses du Quercy)

The Quercy Calcareous Plateau Regional Natural Park is located in the South of France, in the Occitania Region.

There are many great points of interest in this National Park.

If the cities of Rocamadour, the holy city, and of Saint Cirq Lapopie are its emblematic towns, the cave decorated with Pech Merle, the prehistoric Sistine Chapel, or the abism of Padirac they are also the emblems of the classified natural heritage of Quercy.

But in addition to those colors of his calcareous rock, we must highlight the green of its valleys. He Dordogne river valley  and Lot valley, two valleys that you cannot miss of the Quercy in France.

DAY 1: We start the route: Millau Viaduct, the third highest bridge in the world.

Quercy, in France. We visited the area in 4 days.

We start the route from Sérignan where we spend a few days prior to the route.

We head towards Rocamador. The first stop we made was to see the fantastic Millau Viaduct, the third highest bridge in the world.. The viaduct crosses the river Tarn, and measures 2.464m. Is awesome.

The viaduct has a Millau Viaduct information space which is located on the outskirts of Millau, just below the Millau Viaduct.

We arrived at Campsite Yelloh Village Payrac les Pins. It is where we stayed during the 4 days to know the area.

Day 2: Gouffre de Padirac, the depths of the Earth, on our route through France by motorhome

The day after our route through France by motorhome we went to visit the Chasm of Padirac (https://www.gouffre-de-padirac.com/es). It is a cave 100 meters deep and you visit part walking and part by boat. It is worth doing as an explorer to the center of the earth in this super entertaining activity.

Day 3: Rocamador, Monkey Forest, Prehisto Dino Park and the Martel tourist train, a round day for young and old

The next day of our route through France by motorhome we went to rocker. A very tourist town. This municipality preserves, from the Middle Ages, its houses, its castle and its 7 churches and chapels that make up the sanctuary dedicated to the Black Madonna of Notre-Dame-de-Rocamadour. All in an impressive calcareous rock enclave.

We visited the town, and took the opportunity to go to ornithological park le Rocher des Aigles (http://www.rocherdesaigles.com/).

We continue the route visiting Monkey forest (https://www.la-foret-des-singes.com/en/), a forest where 150 macaques live and you can walk by their side and give them the food that their keepers offer you.

The next stop was prehistoric dino park (http://prehistodino.com/en/). A park with a very cool walking tour of approximately 2 hours where you will meet dinosaurs along the way.

Finally, our next option was the Martel tourist train. A train with a short route, passing through many tunnels. There are two machines, one steam and one diesel. It depends on the day there is one or the other (https://trainduhautquercy.info/). At the same station there is a small museum of ancient railway objects. Admission is € 1, it's worth it.

Day 4: Toulousse, Cité de l'Espace and Aeroscopia on our route through the south of France by motorhome

Already heading home again, we stopped at Toulouse. We went to the Cite de l'Espacesystem. (https://es.cite-espace.com/) A perfect place for space lovers, with rockets, history, pieces of meteorites, and many other things. Very cool the truth.

We took advantage of the fact that we were in Toulousse to also go to Aeroscopy. (http://www.musee-aeroscopia.fr/es). Aeroscopy is a aeronautical museum. There are many models of airplanes to visit. For example the very Concorde.

And so far our getaway in the Quercy Natural Park! hope you liked it. See you on the road!
