Do not miss our route through the Ibon de Piedrafita de Jaca and through the Tena Valley zip line, the longest zip line in Spain and Europe that is located in the province of Huesca.
DAY 1: We start the route: Sallent de Gállego by camper
Our proposal for a getaway to Ibón de Piedrafita de Jaca and the Valle de Tena zip line begins in the Aragonese Pyrenees. Specifically in the town of Sallent de Gállego, located in the Tena Valley, on the banks of the Lanuza Reservoir and belonging to the Alto Gállego region.
We arrive on Friday night and go straight to the parking lot next to the Power Station and the Roman Bridge.
Parking is the Sallent de Gallego motorhome area and it is enabled for the overnight stay of motorhomes and campers. This has water filling services, public toilet and some electricity point.

Day 2: Ibón de Piedrafita de Jaca, Formigal-Panticosa, Portalet and La Sarra.
Jaca Piedrafita Ibon
The next day we got up a little early to be able to do the excursion to Ibon of Piedrafita of Jaca and thus enjoy the route with less people.
There are between 20-30 minutes to the parking of the Lacuniacha Wildlife Park (An alternative to consider as an activity especially for families with children). From here the route begins.

This route runs along the easily accessible forest track, along which we find different shortcuts to shorten the distance, but it requires cross the forest following the course of the river.
It is a easy route, with little slope and a distance of about 7km (round trip) variable depending on the shortcuts that we have discussed.
When you arrive at the Ibon de Piedrafita de Jaca you can enjoy some magnificent views before starting the return to the parking lot.
For those who want to continue a little longer, we recommend reaching the famous Piedrafita Arch.
Gastronomy in Sallent de Gallego
At the end of the route we return to the town of Sallent de Gállego where we find a varied gastronomic offer and later stroll through this beautiful town.
Formigal and Portalet with great views
In winter time and with snow it is advisable to go up to the slopes of the ski resort of Formigal-Panticosa, although it is true that at other times of the year you can also enjoy beautiful views such as those offered by the parking of portals located already next to the border with France.
Sarra reservoir
Coming down from Portalet we slept in the Sarra reservoir, a beautiful place to enjoy a blanket of stars if you are lucky enough to have a clear day.
It is a place from which you can do different routes. You can park and spend the night well in a camper van and with a motorhome before the power station. You can also park well, although there is a bit of noise from the power station.

Day 3: Hoz de Jaca and the Valle de Tena zip line, the longest zip line in Europe

After having breakfast accompanied by a beautiful sunrise, we headed for 30 minutes to the town of Sickle of Jaca, where is a spectacular aerial viewpoint in which to take some great panoramic photos on the Búbal reservoir.

Next to the viewpoint is the start of the Valle de Tena double zip line longest in Europe. PTo buy tickets to the Zip Line Tena Valley you can approach his Information Office located a few meters in the town of Sickle of Jaca.
We recommend that, in high season, you book tickets to the Valle de Tena zip line in advance.
The valley has numerous spaces where you can park the van or motorhome and eat with beautiful views before ending the weekend and starting the sad return home thinking about the next getaway.
