The Arribes del Duero Natural Park is a privileged natural space of enormous beauty, which has numerous viewpoints with incredible views of the Duero. There is the Zamorana part called Los Arribes del Duero, the Salamantina part called Las Arribes del Duero in feminine and the Portuguese part called Douro Internacional.
Our way of traveling in a motorhome is slowly, enjoying. That is why we always leave things pending to return. And of course we will return to Arribes del Duero because we fell in love with its landscape.
DAY 1: Arribes del Duero by motorhome through Zamora and Portugal
We start the route in the town of Moralina (Zamora)). We were pleasantly surprised by the “Hotel Rural restaurante los arribes”, where we were able to enjoy a wonderful home-cooked meal, a dining room with a fireplace and homemade bread baked in wood.
We recommend a beautiful walk through the "Route of the mills". A walk that starts from the town of Moralina and is a real pleasure for the senses.
That day pwe spent the night in a motorhome in Miranda do Douro next to the wall in a quiet place with spectacular views.
NOTICE! New regulations on the prohibition of overnight stays in a motorhome in Portugal (from December 2020)
Day 2: Los Arribes del Duero Natural Park and cultural gastronomy
Miranda DoDouro, a town full of charm that offers many attractions: a delicious gastronomy, crafts, nature, incredible views of the Douro (obligatory visit to Picote viewpoint).
We love Portuguese gastronomy and we enjoy it to the fullest. We made a stop to try the “must” of Portuguese sweets: the pastel de nata. And we ate at the Sao-Pedro restaurant (Rue Mouzinho de Alburquerque 20), a place that we recommend.
On our motorhome trip, we made a stop at “the Hermitage of Our Lady of the Castle ”, with a viewpoint with incredible views that deserves a stop on the route. A welcome discovery was the Ecological cheese factory "Santos de Pedro" in Fariza (Zamora)
That night we spent the night in a motorhome in Sendim, in a quiet area near the municipal swimming pools.
Day 3: from Arribes del Duero Zamora to Arribes del Duero Salamanca
The day after our route through Arribes del Duero by motorhome: we left the motorhome parked in sendim and we take the opportunity to make a spectacular route at the foot of the Duero. Incredible views. After our walk we move with the motorhome to Lamoso, from where we made the route of “The waterfall of the Agua Alta fault”.
We continue the route moving to fermoselle. Precious town, declared joint Historic Artistic, where we find charming streets, viewpoints and centenary wineries. We recommend the natural food store "las delicias de Arribes", where we buy delicious local products.
We end the route in Aldeadávila de la Ribera, in the Salamanca area of Arribes del Duero.
We are passionate about the bike, and we decided to stop at its BTT center and take one of the recommended routes. We enjoy a precise day through charming villages and places.
Aldeadávila has a motorhome area very quiet where we spent the night on our last night in our rVisit the Arribes del Duero by motorhome.
