La Molina perfect ski resort for families, 5 things you should know

Here the Molina family ski station perfect to enjoy the snow whether you like skiing or not.

What to know before going to La Molina?

1 La Molina ski resort: 71 km or 115 km skiable with La Massella

La Molina ski station, located in Cerdanya Catalana, is the oldest ski resort in Catalonia. And the first to build the first chair lift in Spain.

It is located at 1700 meters, with the highest elevation at 2445 meters.

It has 71 skiable km in 68 slopes.

It is also the only station with a slalom nini that times your time, something that our little one loves!

2 Cable car to the Pic de l'Àliga refuge in La Tosa, in La Molina ski station

This 2020 they have inaugurated two new lifts.

The great novelty is that of the ski lift of the second section of the cable car with the arrival at the Niu de l'Àguila refuge at the foot of the La Tosa peak.

Now, skis or no skis, you have the opportunity to reach the highest point of the station at 2.537 m and enjoy the spectacular views of the Cadí Moixeró Natural Park.

3 La Molina ski pass price

About ski pass prices in La Molina ski resort, here we tell you some advice.

It is not exactly the cheapest station in Catalonia. The one-day adult pass is € 42 and children under 7 years € 5, the only good pass at the La Molina ski resort.

You have to know that if you have a youth card they will discount you approximately € 4 in the ski pass of La Molina ski station. In addition, there are family packages for 2 adults +2 children of € 126 depending on the age of the children.

Another thing you have to know if you are a beginner is that there is a pass for beginners for € 27,5 and a 4-hour pass that saves you € 4 on the normal pass price.
Now if you have to rent ski equipment, what I recommend is a pack that usually sells Atrapalo as a ski pass + rental of complete ski equipment + insurance for € 49 per adult and a little cheaper for children.

4 Activities at the ski station mill if you don't like skiing

If you do not like to ski but you do enjoy the snow at the ski station of the mill you will enjoy a lot.

It is a good station since it has various offers of services other than skiing or snowboarding. Here I list some of these activities that you can do in La Molina:

1st Go up and down the cable car to the Pic de l'Àliga refuge where you can have lunch and even dinner on Saturdays (reservations must be made). There are 20 minutes of ascent of 900 m of unevenness and the price is € 7,5 up and down.

2nd proposal: make snowshoes (with or without guide).

3rd proposal: sledge with conveyor belt on the Long Track.

4a. Ride with a snow groomer for € 25. 5a. Tubbing (a float you jump on).

5 How to get to the ski station mill + where to park and stay overnight if you go to La Molina by motorhome

You can get to La Molina by train with the R3 from Barcelona passing through different towns or by bus from Barcelona, Sabadell and Terrassa.

Public transport is a very good option to eliminate queues on the road and reduce costs. Since they give you the option to buy the offer with the ski pass included at a very good price, the trip being almost free.

If you go by car, motorhome or camper there are 7 car parks where you can park.

For motorhomes you have 4 car parks: P1, P2, P4b and P6.

The P1 and P2 are at the end next to the cable car that goes up to Pic de l'Àliga. They are for us the best option to go to La Molina in a motorhome when we go with our children. A good base point for snowshoeing, going to the adventure park, tubbies, where the disabled area is and where there is Wi-Fi from the ski resort.

Another very good option to go to La Molina by motorhome is also páquing 6 from Alabau at 1825m going towards Castellar d'Nug where there is also a snowshoe route, you can go sledding and there is access to all kinds of slopes, even one of debutants.

I go skiing a lot to La Molina. If you are a newcomer, apart from the price, it is very good, since it is used to giving the sun. If you already know how to ski, I advise it in years that there is a lot of snow, since there is enough off-piste with easy access.

Hello Javi! You are absolutely right in everything you say. For beginners and those who ski with young children, without looking at the price much, it is a good place. And for the expert skier it is not bad with a good snowfall and a shared ski pass with La Masella. What a shame not having finished taking advantage of the ski season with confinement! Let's see if they will let us roll again for the next season and see you! A hug!
