We love the mountains, especially in winter, but that doesn't mean we aren't passionate about the other seasons too… we believe each one has its own charm. The best part is that without our campervan we wouldn't be able to reach so many wonderful places. We love our culture and being friends with our friends. The most important thing for us is traveling in our campervan, discovering new destinations.
Menorca by campervan: a paradise for your holidays!
On our campervan trip to Menorca, we discovered that it's an island where free overnight stays are allowed... as long as we respect the rules AND DO NOT CAMP (and remember, camping means putting out tables, chairs, or leaving the perimeter of your vehicle in any way). Important!
We can tell you that the options for sleeping are many:
1 / Motorhome area in Es Mercadal, with emptying and filling.
2 / Menorca has two campsites.
3 / Free night.
In our personal experience, driving a campervan in Menorca is perfect, as getting around the island from one end to the other is very easy and quick. There are no tolls.

Our base camp, in Son Bou
Our trip has been 26 days on the island of Menorca with a camper van. Our base camp was the Son Bou campsite. The location of the campsite is perfect since it is located in the middle of the island, making it easy to move both north and south of the city quickly.
And you might ask yourselves… why did we choose to set up a base camp at a campsite when we have a campervan?
The answer is easy!! Spending 26 consecutive days in Menorca is very difficult for us because of the high temperatures and lack of shade, so we decided to camp at a campsite and... one with a swimming pool!
We were very clear that we wanted to travel as much as possible since we had a lot of days ahead of us. We got down to work and here we leave you some of the best coves, things to see and visit on an unforgettable tour of the island of Menorca by campervan.
Coves and beaches
Cala en Brut: for lovers of jumping
It's a cove with no sand, just concrete platforms. The snorkeling is wonderful because the water is incredibly clear. The spot is perfect for jumpers and adrenaline junkies.

Binigaus Beach
A beautiful beach with fine sand and crystal-clear water. Highly recommended for families with children or those seeking a more peaceful environment. At the far end of the beach is a nudist area with equally clear water and fine sand.
Cala`n forcat
This is, without a doubt, a different cove from what we have in mind ... something more touristy. It has a hotel but knowing how to choose a good time you can find a good place without having to get up early.

What to see in Menorca, with your camper van
Binibeca
It's a fishing village with white houses and narrow streets. We think it's a must-see because the village is beautiful…
We recommend, after visiting the town, make a stop at Caló Blanc, a small and beautiful cove that is 5 minutes from the town and easily accessible.
Pont d `in Gil
Nature's wonder!. We cannot describe it in any other way: a natural suspension bridge, molded by the force of the waves from where you can contemplate the neighboring island of Mallorca and a dreamy sunset ...
Cap d'artrutx
Spectacular place to observe some dreamy sunset on your trip to Menorca in a camper van and be able to spend the night. This place, specifically, we loved it. We slept a few nights and it is a very quiet area.
Viewpoint of the bull
You're standing at the highest viewpoint in Menorca. As you can imagine, the view of the island is incredible. We highly recommend staying overnight (we spent a few nights here). A visit to the village of Es Mercadal is a must, where they sell some of the best ensaimadas in Menorca!
Cap de Favaritx
Fascinating lighthouse!… the one we liked the most. It's located in the northern part of the island, in a stark and almost Martian landscape. Painted black and white, it's the lighthouse that impressed us the most.
Rent a boat (without license)
It's been the star activity of this summer. It's been amazing!! To be able to explore the island by sea for a day and to stop and anchor near the most beautiful coves on the island.
Therefore, we believe that it is a totally recommendable and unforgettable activity: crystal clear waters, bathing with a lot of fish, touring the island along the coast has been a success ...

Surf in Menorca
And finally, it may seem surprising, but people surf in Menorca!
In principle, it was not within our plans since we did not know the possibility of being able to practice it. We were lucky enough to meet a wonderful family on the island and they immediately offered to help us get us a board and find the best waves on the island.
They took us to a secret spot and we were able to enjoy a wave session with friends in private. The truth is that we left with a very good taste in our mouths.

Honestly from our experience we cannot say anything bad about the island or anything that we did not like.
The island is beautiful and we have fallen in love.

Menorca is a paradise to go on vacation with a camper. Without a doubt, it is a highly recommended destination since the possibility of bringing your own vehicle is very easy on a ferry.

We are in love with Menorca. It has captivated us in such a way that it is one of the few destinations where we will return for sure. Menorca is ideal to rediscover again and again!

Good afternoon, we want to travel to Menorca in our van the first week of September, we want to go to the Son Bou campsite for a couple of nights, but we also want to spend a few nights in a nice place, without camping, my question is the following:
We can cook? We have a citroen berlingo and we have the camper kit, so we have to have the tailgate open to cook, is that considered camping? or is it part of the perimeter of the van?

Hello Marina, what a good plan you have for September, a good time and a great place! Regarding camping, it is legally understood to stand out from the perimeter of the vehicle as a general rule, so if you cook inside I don't think they will tell you anything at all. Hello family! We went in June, and there were just beginning to be quite a few people, since in San Juan there are Ciutadella festivities.
