Cadaques by van or motorhome is always a pleasure
Get to Cadaques by van or motorhome
Tras 10 kilometers of endless curves we arrive in Cadaqués, the small paradise of the Costa Brava.
A small fishing village in which white predominates and its narrow stone streets adorned with plants and flowers.
For us Cadaqués is the perfect town to spend a few days and disconnect from the stress of routine.
Stroll through Cadaqués
To start our day we can take a walk along its small promenade, then we are just going to tell you that you get lost in its narrow streets of the old town and enjoy seeing its small town shops.
If the day accompanies nothing better than having a drink on any of its terraces by the sea.
Eat in Cadaqués by van
It is time to eat. He typical dish is the suquet de peix although a good paella facing the sea is also worth it. It is recommended to reserve a table depending on the date you leave.
Hiking and beautiful coves in Cadaqués
For the more adventurous, Cadaqués offers several hiking routes through the famous Parapet walk, but we are going to talk about one specifically suitable for the whole family.
La route until reaching the Cala Nans lighthouse, about 4 kilometers that will make you enjoy spectacular views of Cadaqués.
We keep talking about headlights, the Cap de Creus lighthouse It is very worth visiting, it is between cliffs and vegetation, it can be reached by car, and from this point you can see a magical sunset.
Cadaques by van or motorhome: parking and overnight
And to finish we recommend a place to spend the night. Depending on when you leave, it can be a bit difficult to find a good place.
We recommend the Portlligat car park (for the whole year) where we can spend a very quiet night in a good atmosphere of motorhomes and vans and enjoy the best sunrise in the area. This car park has no services, but they allow motorhomes and vans to park and spend the night for a price of €50 a day in high season, an outrageous price, since from 2021 to 2022 they have raised it from 10 to 50 euros. An abusive price for being on the seafront and in front of one of Dalí's most famous coves where we can visit his House Museum.
In addition, you have two great beach bars at the entrance of the parking lot and nearby restaurants.
Just to add one last thing: watch out for wild boars! Yes, what you hear, there are boars all over the car park that can be a bit aggressive, especially with your dogs, so be careful.
Finally, just tell you to be very, very respectful of this car park, it is the only one without barriers and that it is really on the seafront and flat where Cadaqués allows us to spend the night in a motorhome. And please, do not try to park in other parking lots where campers and motorhomes are prohibited, they fine you.
Hello friends
Heeding your fantastic story we have ventured to go to the Porlligat car park remembering for motorhomes and the surprise has been that everything is marked with a prohibition for motorhomes, even with a height barrier to prevent the passage, so I would ask you to clarify this issue and do not put vans and motorhomes in the same block since the limitations and prohibitions are different.
Good morning Yolanda, we were recently there and you can still park in the parking lot at Portlligat beach, it is the only one in the municipality, you were probably in another. See if it was this: https://park4night.com/es/lieu/18481/estacionamiento-d%C3%ADa-y-noche/cadaqu%C3%A9s-unnamed-road/spain/girona#.YK91V6gzaUk
Hey.
It sets closing time at 22pm. Does it imply that they empty the parking lot? How does it work?
Where do you put that closing time? We don't see it in the text. It does not close the parking lot.
Tagespreis Parkplatz für einen Van in Portlligat nicht mehr 10 sondern !50 Euro! Campermobile zahlen night mehr. (August 22)
We update, correct they have risen this July from 10 to 50 euros, an aberration! horrible!
