If there was one region that gave us a true sense of adventure during our trip through Namibia, it was the Skeleton Coast. Few places in the world combine the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean, the dunes of the Namib Desert, and miles of virtually uninhabited coastline in such a spectacular way.
Its name says it all. For centuries, sailors feared these shores because of the frequent fogs, strong winds, and numerous shipwrecks that left the remains of abandoned vessels along the coastline. Today, those skeletal ships form part of one of Africa's most fascinating and awe-inspiring landscapes.
Exploring this region in a 4x4 was one of the most authentic experiences of our trip. For hours we traveled along remote tracks where we barely encountered other travelers, surrounded by dunes, salt flats, seals, and a constant feeling of exploring one of the last truly wild territories on the planet.
👉 We are finishing a complete guide on the Skeleton Coast and Dorob National Parkwhere we will share everything we learned during our visit: how to get there, what places are worth visiting, maps, recommended 4x4 tracks, the best spots to see wildlife, tips for driving on sand, what to bring and how to organize one of the most adventurous stages of any Namibian route.
It will be available very soon.

However, after traveling more than 5.000 kilometers…

Sossusvlei and Deadvlei: Namibia's most impressive dunes
If there's one image that represents Namibia worldwide, it's probably that of the enormous orange dunes of Sossusvlei and the petrified trees of Deadvlei against the white, cracked desert floor.
